Alex Proudfoot
Experienced Counsellor & Therapist in Central Manchester
Having first qualified in Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2012, I specialise in a humanistic and integrative counselling approach and have worked in recent years both voluntarily with clients in local agencies and in private practice. I am currently in the latter stage of training as an Advanced Integrative Therapist at the College of Cognitive Behaviour Therapies (CCBT) at Bath University.
I also work on a voluntary and sessional basis for Arts of Change Trust, Dudley, with children, young people and young adults, all suitably supervised.
As well as my current training and work in private practice, I have over three years’ experience working voluntarily with people dealing with alcohol dependency at the SWAN Project in Bristol, over a year on a voluntary basis at IMPACT Swindon and Wiltshire Active Recovery and three years on a voluntary basis for Anxiety UK.

My approach
I have worked with clients dealing with a variety of issues, including:
- Alcohol or drug dependency
- Anxiety

- Stress
My background is in bodywork and breathing methods, I am also a Teacher of the Alexander Technique and Buteyko Method Coach and have worked long term with individuals and groups dealing with physical health issues and desire to improve performance.
